Taroona Baptist Church is a church which is determined to reach the community in which the Lord has placed us. We strive to be culturally relevant in our worship style so that anyone, whether Christian or non-Christian, who joins with us at our church service can understand what is being said and done. We are determined to be like the Apostle Paul who said in 1 Cor 9:22 "I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some."
We are conservative in theology yet open to do what it takes to reach the vast numbers of lost people in our community. At all times we seek to uphold Biblical standards and principles.
In recent years the lord has led us into a fruitful children's ministry with 30-35 children attending Sunday School and other children's activities each week. Much of the growth of our church over this time had been couples with younger children. We have recently begun a youth group for early high school aged kids to cater for our children’s needs as they get older. We trust this ministry will grow and become an important part of the outreach and discipleship of teenagers.
The family is a strong emphasis in our church thinking. We have a strong sense of church family as we share our lives together, recognising that no-one is ever too young or too old to be part of church family. We strive to reach families in our community and much of our preaching and teaching is designed to help families understand the biblical principles which help their family cope with the challenges of life.
Taroona Baptist church is an organism, not an organisation. All living things grow and change and we ought to expect growth and change to be part of the life of the church. While there are a multitude of methods by which we can achieve this growth, we are committed to the unchanging Biblical principles which God has set out in Scripture.
